A Prayer for the Week Ahead
✦
“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”PROVERBS 16:3
Before the week takes its first step, we bring it to the throne. Every hour not yet lived, every task not yet started, every conversation not yet had — we lay it in the hands of the One who holds time itself. This is a prayer for the days ahead, spoken now so that we walk into them already covered.
Protection & Covering
Father, we ask for a hedge of protection over our homes, our households, and our labor. Guard our coming in and our going out. Let no weapon formed against us prosper, and let no plan of the enemy find an open door this week. Cover our vehicles, our workplaces, our land, and our loved ones under the shadow of Your wing.
Wisdom & Direction
Lord, where decisions must be made, give clarity. Where we are tempted to move in our own strength, remind us to wait on You. Order our steps according to Your word, and close the doors that are not Yours to open. Let us hear Your voice above the noise of the week and follow it without hesitation.
Provision & Favor
You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. We trust You for what this week requires — strength for the body, resources for the work, and favor in every room we enter. Let our labor be blessed and multiplied, and let us be found faithful stewards of everything placed in our hands.
Family & Household
Watch over every member of our household this week, Lord. Strengthen marriages, guard the hearts of children, and knit our homes together in peace. Let our households be places where Your presence is welcome and Your peace is evident to everyone who enters.
Standing in the Gap
We pray also for those who cannot pray for themselves this week — the weary, the grieving, the bullied, the forgotten. Raise up watchmen on the wall. Comfort the brokenhearted and give courage to the fearful. And we pray for the nations, Lord — that even in the shaking, Your purposes would stand and Your kingdom would advance.
I declare that this week is not random but ordered by God. I will not walk in fear, but in faith. I will not run ahead of the Spirit, nor lag behind Him. Whatever this week holds, I belong to the Lord, and I go into it covered, guided, and unafraid.
Amen.
